FOX 35 Feed-A-Thon 2025

Join the FOX 35 Orlando's Care Force for Feed-A-Thon 2024! We are partnering with Walmart and Elevation Church for a food drive to benefit One Heart for Women and Children ahead of the holidays. All proceeds will support Central Florida families facing food scarcity. We're collecting non-perishable food items, gift cards, baby supplies, and household items. We'll be at the Walmart Supercenter near UCF's campus, 11250 E. Colonial Drive, Orlando, FL 32817, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 8, 2024.

Thrift shop owner donates uniforms for veterans' honors

The FOX 35 Care Force is honoring a Central Florida Navy Veteran making a difference in the lives of military families as they strive to give their veterans a burial with honors. FOX 35’s Amanda McKenzie went to Jerry Vaughn’s Down the Road Thrift Shop in Titusville to learn more about his mission to help military families honor their veterans in their final sendoff one uniform at a time.

FOX 35 Care Force: Honoring Brenda Whitaker

The FOX 35 Care Force is now honoring the 2024 Crossing Guard of the Year in Seminole County. FOX 35's Amanda McKenzie introduces us to Brenda Whitaker, who makes a difference in the lives of thousands of students as she smiles at them and keeps them safe both on the way to and from school.

FOX 35 Care Force: Mentor Sheldon Williams

The FOX 35 Care Force is highlighting a special imitative from the City of Orlando called the Mayor's Matching Grant Program." Started in 1995, the program has awarded more than 1,00 grants totaling nearly $6 million. Some of that grant money was awarded to the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity's "Young Men of Distinction Program," which helped Sheldon Williams when he was younger. Today, he has returned to Orlando as a mentor and football coach.

FOX 35 Care Force: 'Hunger Never Sleep's

The Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida is hosting its first "Hunger Never Sleeps" event, a 24-hour volunteer marathon where hunger advocates are invited to roll up their sleeves and take action against hunger. FOX 35's Amanda McKenzie heads over to the event to learn more and talk with some of the volunteers.

FOX 35 Care Force: Honoring 8-year-old Gracie Decelles

The FOX 35 Care Force is recognizing its youngest recipient yet who is making a difference in her community by raising funds to buy backpacks and school supplies for families in need. FOX 35's Amanda McKenzie heads over to Geneva Elementary School to present the award to third-grader Gracie Decelles.

FOX 35 Care Force: Jamison Fleming

The FOX 35 Care Force is counting down to its Making Strides Against Breast Cancer event with the American Cancer Society. The walk will take place on Saturday, Oct. 25, at Lake Eola Park in Downtown Orlando. Leading up to the event, we are honoring breast cancer survivors every Friday. This week, we talk to Jamison Fleming about her journey.

Bell Isle Police Department's "Belle" returns to Good Day Orlando with her handler, Jeff Hernandez, to talk about how the K9 is progressing, as well as the importance of donations and how they help keep the unit going.

FOX 35 Care Force: Econ River High School teacher

Econ River High School’s English teacher, Bob Strodtbeck, is being honored by the FOX 35 Care Force for his dedication to the lives of his students. On Aug. 19, Strodtbeck achieved a significant milestone when he worked 2,633 days straight, which is the equivalent to more than 14 school years without missing a day of work.

FOX 35 Care Force: Retired baker Ben Breslauer

The FOX 35 Care Force is saluting a retired baker who's making a difference at the Roth Family Jewish Community Center in Maitland. Ben Breslauer is teaching adults who have special needs how to bread and then employing them at the JCC.
