Jessica Eley
Jessica joined the FOX 35 team as a sports and news reporter in August 2021.
She is excited to call the Sunshine State home! Jessica was born and raised in Kansas City, MO, but her family has roots in Bartow, FL and the surrounding Polk County area. So, she is no stranger to Central Florida.
Jessica most recently worked as a sports reporter and digital producer for WDAF in Kansas City, covering the Chiefs, Royals, Sporting KC and KC NWSL. During her time in Kansas City, she won awards from the Kansas Association of Broadcasters as part of George Floyd protest team coverage in Kansas City, and her contribution to a special on the 100th anniversary of the Negro Leagues.
Prior to Kansas City, Jessica worked as a sports anchor in Augusta, GA where she won a Georgia Association of Broadcasters award for best sports anchor in 2019. She landed her first on-air job in Greenville, MS where she anchored sports.
Jessica has a master’s degree in broadcast journalism with a sports communication emphasis from Syracuse University’s Newhouse School. She has a bachelor’s degree in communications from Appalachian State, where she competed on the women’s volleyball team with a full scholarship she earned.
She is an advocate for girls and women in sports and volunteered coaching youth club volleyball while in Kansas City.
Jessica is a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. and is also a member of NABJ.
When Jessica’s not at work, she enjoys working out, trying new recipes, and spending time with her husband and son.
