Flights canceled as FAA reduces flight traffic

The FAA has ordered airlines to cut their total flights by 4% at 40 of the busiest airports in the U.S. That begins on Friday, Nov. 7. By Friday, Nov. 11, the FAA will cut flight traffic by 10%. Airports in Orlando, Tampa, Miami, and Fort Lauderdale are impacted.

How will FAA flight cuts impact Orlando airport?

The FAA has ordered airlines cut flight traffic by 10% on Friday amid the government shutdown which has stressed FAA flight controllers, who have gone a month without a paycheck. The flight cuts are planned for the 40 busiest airports, which reportedly includes Orlando International Airport and Tampa International Airport. Several airlines are offering passengers refunds and the ability to change their travel plans without a penalty.

'Star of the Seas' docked at Port Canaveral

Right now, Royal Caribbean’s "Star of the Seas," is docked at Port Canaveral. The ship will take its maiden voyage at the end of this month. The vessel is the world’s largest cruise ship, weighing 248,663 tons and holding more than 5,000 passengers. The ship offers a wide range of amenities, including 40 bars, restaurants and lounges, and family-friendly features, including the largest water park at sea. Carnival Cruise Line building largest ship to date

Carnival Cruise Line will launch its largest cruise ship yet, the "Carnival Festivale," with week-long cruises from the Space Coast in 2027. The new 180,000-ton cruise ship will be the cruise line's fourth Excel-class ship. Carnival Festivale will offer a wide range of popular amenities and new features, such as a sprawling water park on the uppermost decks and a host of other innovations.

Hudson River helicopter crash updates: NTSB

The National Transportation Safety Board gave an update on the Hudson River helicopter crash that took place Thursday afternoon. A family of five, three children and two adults, were killed in the crash, along with the pilot. The helicopter model has been confirmed as a Bell 206 L-4 flying for New York Helicopters.
