Florida Highway Patrol troopers said they came across a “large” alligator taking a stroll in Collier County on Sunday, April 26.
It's one of the best places in Florida to spot alligators, and when the conditions are right, they come out in droves.
The trapper named the eight-foot, eight-inch long gator 'Cool Hand Luke' because of its cool and mellow demeanor.
Two Florida men are facing charges after deputies say one of them caught an alligator and the other poured beer into its mouth and enticed the animal to bite him, according to news reports.
