The Ocala Police Department arrested two teens after they filmed reckless social media stunts that caused damage and raised safety concerns at a Target on Saturday. Authorities say 18-year-old Janek Szkaradek drove a lawnmower through a Target store on SW College Road, damaging a door, while 18-year-old Luke Charske recorded the incident. The night before, Szkaradek also used a leaf blower inside a nearby Culver’s restaurant.

What would you do? A Florida man was behind the wheel of his $250,000 Lamborghini Huracan headed to the gym when a pickup truck drove on top of the it. It happened in the parking lot of a shopping center in Lake Nona. FOX 35's Chris Lindsay talked to the owner of the Lamborghini. He said he had got the vehicle recently and hadn't driven it much.  Photos showed the windshield shattered and significant scratches on the hood. The car is in the shop awaiting repairs.

Volusia County Sheriff Mike Chitwood has partnered with a law firm to file civil lawsuits against alleged two social media promoters, who promoted unsanctioned, unpermitted "takeover" events over Spring Break in Daytona Beach. According to the lawsuit, it cost taxpayers more than $800,000 as law enforcement had to bring in extra resources to handle the crowds, the sheriff said.

No charges in Pulse crosswalk chalk protests

State Attorney Monique Worrell said her office would not prosecute those arrested for allegedly defacing the Pulse memorial crosswalk with rainbow chalk. She said there is no way to prove damage since chalk is designed to wash away. The state painted over several crosswalks, following federal guidance, that sought to eliminate any perceived social or political messaging from public roadways and streets. Worrell cautioned that dropping the charges in these specific cases should not encourage people to deface other crosswalks.

Florida mom accused of abandoning child for days, weeks

A Florida mom has been arrested under suspicion of child neglect after allegedly abandoning her child alone at home, which was dirty, covered in animal waste, and with aggressive dogs. Ashley Burdick, 31, faces a felony charge of child neglect. The Brevard County Sheriff's Office said neighbors contacted 911 after becoming concerned. The child said he couldn't open the door due to the dogs and instead talked to them through a bathroom window, according to the arrest report. The child told him that he was once left alone for two weeks and ran out of food, the report said.

Sloth World was expected to open in March, but that has not happened.  And now, questions are being raised after 31 sloths under their care died between Dec. 2024 and Feb. 2025, according to an August 2025 FWC incident report. FOX 35 also found out that the building where the animals were allegedly stored was permitted to store vehicles, not animals. Lindsey said she now wants a refund -- and requested one, but has not heard back.
