The teenager was arrested and booked into the juvenile detention center for possessing or harming an alligator without approval from the Florida Fish & Wildlife Conservation Commission, a level 4 felony, according to the arrest affidavit.

She's also facing charges of aggravated child abuse and failure to report the death of a person with intent to conceal the death. The woman initially told deputies that she did not know she was pregnant. In a March court appearance, attorneys for Demegillo described the incident as an "isolated episode."
