The Sumter County Sheriff's office gave details regarding a man armed with a knife, stemming from a domestic incident, that led to a suspect shot and killed on May 22. Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis spoke on a federal judge's decision to freeze the exempted fishing permits which allowed fishermen to catch red snapper starting on May 22. Complaints alleged the permits would cause overfishing, to which DeSantis disagreed, saying, " I have people who tell me … you've got to get through all the snapper to find the other fish because you catch so many snapper.”
