Labor Day weekend is now here, and millions of travelers are preparing for their last getaway of the summer season. Millions are expected to travel over the weekend, setting trave records across the country. FOX 35's Matt Trezza gives us a look at what to expect in Orlando.

New signs are now up around the crosswalk in front of Pulse Nightclub. The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) first painted over the rainbow crosswalk last week. Although protestors attempted to color it back in again, the paint and chalk was removed several different times. FOX 35's Amanda McKenzie shows us what the scene looks like now.

Lawrence Dority, the man found guilty of killing a former Orlando Magic player in 2022, is set to be sentenced today. Dority shot and killed former NBA player Adreian Payne, who was attempting to mediate a dispute between Dority and his girlfriend. The crash happened on westbound Interstate 4 near mile marker 105, which falls between Lake Monroe and Deltona.

Astrotech Space Operations is sending three satellites to space to track solar storms, which can have an impact on Earth. FOX 35's Esther Bower got a first look at the satellites before they launched to space.

Orange County Public Schools said it's seeing a larger drop in student enrollment, based on its initial estimates. OCSO expected about 3,000 fewer students this year. Now that school is in session, OCSO said the number is closer to 6,000, which could result in a $25M funding drop.

A 20-year-old man is accused of firing his gun in the direction of three police officers who were eating dinner because he was "drunk" and wanted to "get their attention," according to the Winter Springs Police Department.

Richard Felton, 58, was arrested on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and aggravated child abuse. He's accused of threatening a kid who was picking his sister up from the bus stop. Felton was apparently mad that the boy's car was parked in front of his house. However, it was determined that he was parked on a public street, not Felton's property.

A man and woman in their 40s were found dead inside a home on Courtney Chase Circle in Orange County. The Orange County Sheriff's Office said both have obvious signs of trauma. OCSO added that the investigation was active.

Two leaders of the so-called Kingdom of God Global Church are accused of using call centers to raise $50 million for sham humanitarian work to fund lavish lifestyles. They're also accused of controlling nearly every aspect of the call center employees' lives, according to an indictment by the DOJ.

The CDC is warning about flesh-eating bacteria found in water, including cases in Florida. Some 20 cases have been reported so far in 2025 in Florida, including in Flagler and Volusia counties, according to the Florida Department of Health. There have been 5 deaths reported.

A 20year-old man allegedly told officers that he was a "little drunk" and fired his gun at three Winter Springs police officers to "get their attention," according to the Winter Springs Police Department. Devin Williams was arrested on several charges, including aggravated assault, use of a firearm under the influence, grand theft, liquor possession by a person under 21, unlawful carry of a concealed firearm, among other charges. No officers were hurt. The officers were seated outside having dinner.

Orange County Mayor Jerry Demings talked with reporters about the state's allegations that his government and employees were not being fully cooperative with the Florida DOGE Team's audit. Demings told reporters that he believes the state's actions were politically motivated.

Westbound Interstate 4 is closed in Volusia County, according to the Florida Department of Transportation.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and Florida Chief Financial Officer Blaise Ingoglia alleged on Wednesday that some Orange County leaders and employees have not been fully cooperative with Florida's DOGE audit team, specifically surrounding grants and programs dealing with Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI). Orange County Mayor Jerry Demings denied the state's allegations in a statement and said it fully cooperated with the Florida DOGE audit team.
