The estranged boyfriend was then killed shortly after the attack after he lost control of his vehicle, crashed, and was thrown from it, SCSO said.

Seminole County Sheriff Dennis Lemma held a press conference to provide an update on a deadly shooting that happened early Friday morning. Sheriff Lemma said a man broke into his estranged girlfriend's home and stabbed her several times in her bed with a kitchen knife. Another man who was in the room with her, a new boyfriend, tried to help, but was stabbed in the leg. The estranged boyfriend ran away from the scene in his vehicle, crashed, and died, the sheriff said. The couple had a 16-year-old son.

Osceola County Sheriff Marcos Lopez said one person was shot at an apartment complex in Kissimmee. A man was taken to the hospital with what appeared to be multiple gunshot wounds. Titusville police are investigating after an officer was reportedly involved in a shooting while responding to a domestic violence incident on Friday morning.

An Orange County doctor is behind bars after allegedly confessing to killing his wife, according to authorities. Thomas Wentzell, 72, was arrested on Thursday and booked into the Orange County Jail on a second-degree murder charge. Windermere police detectives said Wentzell admitted to killing his wife, Linda Wentzell, during their investigation.
