While the Atlantic basin is quiet and Florida faces no threat of tropical weather over the next week and nothing looming on the horizon, the Western Hemisphere's first tropical storm of the storm has formed, in the eastern Pacific. Meteorologist Brooks Garner is tracking it.

Tropics forecast: 1st Tropical Depression of the Season
The first tropical depression of the season in the Western Hemisphere is happening right now. But Florida can relax. Tropical Depression #1E has formed in the eastern Pacific, and it is no threat to Florida, or any land for that matter. It will likely become Tropical Storm Amanda before gradually falling apart over open water, more than 1,000 miles southeast of Hawaii. Meanwhile, the Atlantic remains quiet. There is a weak low in the Gulf that may help bring heavy rain to parts of the Central Gulf Coast, but development is unlikely. So, no alarm bells here. Just the first sign that tropical season is waking up.

Five severe thunderstorm warnings were issued between Flagler, Volusia and Brevard counties on Tuesday afternoon. FOX 35's Brooks Garner reported a system moving through bringing a downpour on the coast near Mims and Titusville, which delayed a SpaceX Starlink launch Wednesday morning by one hour.
