National Hurricane Center tracking 'triangle of tropical trouble' as Atlantic Basin bubbles with activity
The National Hurricane Center (NHC) has its eyes on what appears to be a “triangle of tropical trouble" as the Atlantic Ocean begins to bubble up with activity ahead of the peak of hurricane season.

Hurricane Erin brings waves, rip currents to East Coast
Hurricane Erin's impacts are already underway across the Southeast, bringing dangerous surf and strong rip currents along Florida's East Coast beaches. The Category 2 storm has maximum sustained winds of 100 mph. Wave heights could reach up to 11 feet along Northeast Florida beaches, and 5-7 feet along the east-central coast. These large breaking waves create extremely dangerous conditions for swimmers and surfers.

Tropical Storm Watches and Warnings have been issued for parts of North Carolina's coast, Turks and Caicos, and the Bahamas as Hurricane Erin spins in the Atlantic Ocea. As of 11AM, Hurricane Erin was about 650 miles southwest of Bermuda and 690 miles southeast of Cape Hatteras, North Carolina.
