1 child shot, killed at Orange County park, another in custody

One person is dead and another is in custody after a shooting Thursday evening on a basketball court behind a YMCA near Oak Ridge High School, according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies said the shooting happened at Vogt-Meloon Park on West Oak Ridge Road after an altercation between two kids on the basketball court. The victim was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
