First storm of 2026 hurricane season forms

Tropical Storm Arthur formed Wednesday near Texas, becoming the first named storm of the 2026 hurricane season. The main threats are flooding, heavy rainfall, and storm surge for those along the cost of Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama. Some parts of the Florida Panhandle may also see some rain from Arthur's remnants.
