Tropical storm watch in Texas as tropical threat nears

The National Hurricane Center is tracking Potential Tropical System 1 in Texas, near the Gulf. Heavy rainfall and potential flash flooded is expected in several coastal states, including parts of Texas, Alabama, Louisiana, Mississippi, and the Florida Panhandle. The system is expected to strengthen and could become Tropical Storm Arthur, the first tropical storm of the 2026 Atlantic hurricane season.
