Daytona Beach robbery suspect exchanges gunfire with police during motel standoff

A robbery investigation escalated into a standoff and exchange of gunfire between a suspect and police Monday at a Daytona Beach motel, leaving an officer injured and the suspect hospitalized with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound, authorities said.
