Edgewater cop killer avoids death penalty in plea deal

Eduardo Machado, the man accused of shooting and killing Edgewater Police Officer David Jewell, pleaded no contest to first-degree murder, part of a plea agreement with prosecutors. In exchange, prosecutors dropped the death penalty.
