UF tests plant disease defenses on the space station
A new University of Florida investigation aboard the ISS is examining how microgravity alters plant immune defenses and pathogen vulnerability using custom hardware developed with Redwire Space. Dr. Andrew Schuerger, UF Assistant Professor and one of the lead researchers in this study, joined FOX 35's Garrett Wymer to detail vital insights for growing disease-resilient crops on deep-space Artemis missions while uncovering clues to breed hardier plants on Earth.
