8 arrests following months-long drug investigation in Mount Dora

Mount Dora Police on Tuesday announced multiple arrests following a 4-month investigation with the assistance from the Drug Enforcement Administration, that targeted lower and mid-level drug dealers.

As part of the "Operation: Crackdown," five search warrants were executed resulting in eight arrests and the seizure of large amounts of marijuana, prescription drugs and multiple fire arms, including one firearm stolen out of Orlando.

More than 100 law enforcement officers, including SWAT teams from Mount Dora and Eustis, Lake County Sheriff's Office and DEA, executed four search warrants in Mount Dora's northeast and one in the city's southeast. "The majority of the search warrants were in close proximity of Mount Dora High School or Mount Dora Middle School," said Megan Glass, police spokesperson.
