Alligator spotted on Marion County elementary school property

MARION COUNTY, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) - A six-foot alligator was discovered on the Shady Hill Elementary School campus Thursday morning, according to Marion County Public Schools.

They say the alligator was spotted close to the water retention area.

Florida Fish and Wildlife quickly dispatched a trapper, who secured the animal by 7:29 a.m., which is long before any students reach that area.
