Deputies with the Sumter County Sheriff's Office are using shovels to look for evidence in the case of a missing man.

Forensics trailers were parked outside a house on Belt Avenue in Bushnell, just down the street from the home of 40-year-old Claudio Carvajal-Hernandez.

Investigators say they are doing some digging in the back yard of the home.  They are not saying who resides at the house or how it could be related to the disappearance of Carvajal-Hernandez, last seen on June 24 at 4 a.m. by his stepson.

Carvajal-Hernandez was last seen wearing black shorts and a white tank top. He is described as a Hispanic man, approximately 5 feet 5 inches, 150 pounds, short black hair, brown eyes and dark skin with a scar on his forehead.

If you have any information about this case, please contact Detective Troy Hampton at 352-793-2621 or Crimeline at 1-800-423-TIPS (8477).
