Boyfriend arrested after mother of missing baby found dead, baby is safe

Marion County deputies have arrested a man in connection with the death of his girlfriend.

The incident started early Wednesday morning with an Amber Alert. Deputies were searching for a missing 11-month-old baby.

Hours later, the Amber Alert turned into a homicide investigation. Detectives found the child’s 20-year-old mother, Kiara Allenye, dead inside a home on NE 78 Lane in Anthony.

“She was so young and beautiful and she had a child,” a neighbor Maria Kimble said. “She had so much to live for and it’s just sad that this situation has happened.”

Marion County deputies discovered the body while doing a well fare check. After that, they began searching for the child’s father, 30-year-old Deangelo Clark, as a suspect.

At the time, they believed the missing child was with Clark. The baby was found safe later with a family member. Deputies eventually found Clark hundreds of miles away in Monroe County in south Florida.

“I don’t have any information on the circumstances in which he was taken into custody and will be transported back into Marion County,” Cecelia Koon with the Marion County Sherriff’s Office said.

Neighbors are still in shock by what happened here.

“Both of them so young,” Kimble said. “Both of their lives are gone now. Now, their daughter has to grow up without a mother and a father.”

The child is doing okay. She is in the care of law enforcement.
