Daytona Hard Rock Hotel surprises neighbors with unexpected opening

After months of watching the building come together from the outside, neighbors in Daytona Beach got their first look at the new Hard Rock Hotel this week; an unexpected surprise for many.

On Thursday, the hotel posted a message to Facebook saying they had opened their doors for business. While leaders said they were aiming for a March 1st opening, many locally only learned that fact when they saw the valet stands go up out front.

The hotel was already drawing a crowd by Friday though.

The seven-story building has more than 200 rooms and features a vast collection of music memorabilia. Hard Rock curators said they tried to design the hotel to fit the beach-front location and the style of Daytona, while also bringing in the company’s signature, up-scale presentation.

The hotel features several pools, outdoor bars and gathering space, a restaurant, and will soon include a spa and kids’ club.

Several guest had already checked in by Friday as well, saying they were very impressed by the luxurious look inside the classic Daytona building.

Guests are also greeted with a “guitar menu” at check-in where they can select a guitar and amp to have and use in their room during their stay or a turntable and records.

The building is currently in their “soft-opening” with several details still coming together. Leaders are planning a grand opening soon.
