'Family Matters' home is going to be demolished

LOS ANGELES - Unfortunately, the Chicago home featured in the opening of Family Matters has been approved for demolition. It’s going to be replaced with a three-unit condo.

Coldwell Banker’s Lissa Weinstein told DNA Info :

“Prior to purchasing the property, they evaluated whether saving the house was a possibility and ultimately determined that renovating the home wasn’t a viable option. In honoring the site’s past, they plan to decorate the entry with framed photographs of the original house and the show’s beloved cast.”
