Fire crews respond to an Ocala apartment complex that was on fire

Ocala Fire Rescue says that they responded to a structure fire at Laurel Park Apartment Wednesday morning.

Upon arrival, they say that they saw a two story residential structure fire. Heavy smoke was coming from the front door of the apartment complex's community room. Flames were showing on the west wall of the structure.

Fire rescue teams were able to ensure the apartment units were empty, while attacking the spreading fire successfully, says the Ocala Fire Rescue.

The fire did reportedly spread, but the apartment was not rendered uninhabitable. The family of six, two adults and four children, were able to stay home.

No injuries were sustained. The cause of the fire is to be determined.
