Gainesville road closures set in place for white nationalist Richard Spencer's arrival

The Gainesville Police Department have announced a comprehensive safety and security plan for October 19th, the day that white nationalist Richard Spencer visits the University of Florida to speak. 

A portion of SW 34th Street will be closed for vehicle traffic between SW 2nd Avenue and SW 20th Avenue. The road will close at 10 a.m. and is expected to re-open at 9 p.m.

Other north and south corridors will be available during those times, such as SW 62nd Boulevard and SW 13th Street.

Residents of the apartment complexes south of SW 2nd Avenue will be able to access those complexities from SW 34th Street.

Persons traveling to and from the UF Orthapaedics Institute, Museum Walk Apartments, and the HIlton UF Conference Center can utilize Hull Road to SW 38th Terrace to SW 20th Avenue.
