Man accidentally texts Florida detective requesting marijuana

GAINESVILLE, Fla. (FOX 13) - A man texted the wrong person asking to purchase marijuana: a detective.
Gainesville police shared on the agency’s Facebook page screenshots of the text messages between one of their detectives and the unknown man:
Man: Hey do you have bud I might need some.
Detective: *shares image of badge* I think you have the wrong number. Drugs are no good for you.
Man: oh my god
Man: I’m so sorry
Police suggested in the Facebook post, “Please double check the number before you text. Also, drugs are bad, mmmkay?”
It’s unknown whether the man has been identified or arrested.
