Newberry Road lane closures scheduled tonight
GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) - Traffic on Newberry Road west of Interstate 75 will be temporarily reduced to two lanes on Thursday night after 11 p.m., weather permitting. Law enforcement officers will assist with traffic control while an overhead sign structure is removed near the interstate overpass.
All lanes will reopen to traffic before Friday morning, according to Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT).
Improvements on Newberry Road (State Road 26) are part of the 3-mile resurfacing project from west of I-75 to Southwest 38th Street in Gainesville. The $6.2 million FDOT project is scheduled for completion in the fall.
