Orlando weather: Saharan dust lingers Thursday, hotter and drier weekend ahead

What will the weather look like tonight?

What to expect:

Expect a hazy evening with a few thunderstorms north of Orlando. A stellar and musty sunset is likely given the high concentration of Saharan Dust overhead.

Overnight, expect the temperature lows in the low to mid 70s.

What will the weather look like Friday?

What to expect:

Friday will feel hotter with highs into the low 90s again with only a handful of PM storms. Saharan Dust will start to depart our skies during the afternoon and evening.

What will the weather look like this weekend?

Looking ahead:

Feeling hot but mostly dry rain-wise this weekend. Low to mid 90s Saturday and Sunday with only 20% chances for a PM thunderstorm here or there.

Next week, humidity jumps up and so does the rain chances once again. It looks like rain chances are 60% or higher starting next Tuesday with a classic summer pattern of scattered afternoon and evening storms. Hotter than average with highs in the low to mid 90s most of next week for central Florida.

The tropics remain quiet and should stay quiet for a while in the Atlantic basin. The Pacific will remain active but no sign of "Andrea" -- the 1st name of 2025 in the Atlantic any time soon.
