Orlando weather: Drier weekend ahead with highs in the 80s, some passing showers

Drier air is trying to settle in across Central Florida, and that'll be the big headline into this weekend.

Here's a look at what to expect from the weather this weekend and early next week.

What will the weather look like tonight?

What To Expect:

We still have a weak boundary draped across the region though, situated just to our east. There's also some energy upstairs in the atmosphere which helps keep the threat of scattered showers and storms in the forecast.

Watch out for a few during Friday Night Football, but they'll slowly fade away late this evening. Watch out for torrential rain in any stronger storm as there is still a lot of moisture in the atmosphere as a whole.

Overnight, we'll see clearing with lows dipping back into the lower to middle 70s.

What's next:

High pressure to our northwest builds eastbound with the wind filtering in from the north to northeast. Dew points, especially the northwest, will likely dip into the lower to middle 60s, which will feel wonderful.

Even for our southeastern locales, dew points will be around 70 degrees which will feel noticeably better. This drier flow looks to cut down on our chances of rain this weekend, but we'll still have the chance for a few showers and storms.

Rain chances are around 30% which means any activity should be isolated. There's still enough moisture in the air for a solid downpour or two, so keep your eyes on the radar if you're out and about during the afternoon.

Highs look to top out just a bit below normal, with this dip in the jet stream over the Southeast. That'll keep our highs in the upper 80s and lows in the lower 70s mainly Saturday night.

Sunday looks to be just as nice with dew points trying to come down a little further. Get out and enjoy the "comfiness" while we have it. The wind continues to pump in from the NNE and with that, we'll still have that boundary situated to our east.

With still some onshore flow, these will drift inland and work across Central Florida from NE to SW. Rain chances stay parked around 30% Sunday afternoon but come down further early next week.

Looking Ahead:

Spotty showers and storms are on the docket Monday and Tuesday with chances only around 20%.

That changes late in the week as we get into more of a direct onshore wind. Expect more coverage of showers and storms Thursday and Friday, with chances becoming a likelihood. It'll also get more humid with highs topping out near 90 degrees.
