Orlando weather: Central Florida sizzles as heat wave intensifies ahead of weekend

Orlando Weather Forecast PM: May 15th, 2025
FOX 35 Storm Team Meteorologist Noah Bergren is tracking very hot weather this weekend.
ORLANDO, Fla. - It was a hot day on Thursday, but things will cool down tonight before a weekend heat-wave hits Central Florida beginning on Friday.
What will the weather look like tonight?
What to expect:
Mostly clear skies continue overnight. Temperatures will stay mild as they dip down into the upper 60s and low 70s for lows.
What will the weather look like on Friday?
What to expect:
It will be another hot and sunny day on Friday. Temperatures are expected to reach highs in the mid-90s, with calm winds becoming west-southwest at around 5 mph in the afternoon. Friday night will be mostly clear, with a low around 70 and light west-northwest winds.

Given the high temperatures and clear skies, you should take precautions against heat-related illnesses. It's advisable to stay hydrated, limit prolonged outdoor activities during peak heat hours, and apply sunscreen to protect against the sun's rays.

What will the weather look like for the weekend?
Looking ahead:
The big takeaway weather-wise heading into this weekend and beyond will be the building heat. A large ridge of high pressure continues to move in and will keep the forecast dry and very hot.

Highs through the weekend and into much of next week will be soaring well into the middle 90s. While temperatures this hot aren't uncommon for this time of year, it can still cause concern about heat exhaustion. Especially for those spending an extended time outside, like anyone heading out to Welcome To Rockville this weekend. Be sure to listen to your body and stay hydrated!

This massive heat wave continues as a large ridge of high pressure continues to move in and will keep the forecast dry and very hot.

Drought Monitor
We finally got some much-needed rain last weekend and at the start of the work week; however, we are going to be back in a dry spell for at least the next seven days. Moderate to severe drought conditions still exist across much of Central Florida.
