Task force investigating 2 new Lake County fires
UMATILLA, Fla. (FOX 35 Orlando) - Officials in Lake County are investigating two fires, following a string of suspected arson case arout the Umatilla area.
Around 4 p.m. on Monday, Lake County Fire Rescue responded to a fire at an abandoned mobile home in the 37000 block of State Road 19 in Umatilla. When Fire crews arrived, the structure was fully involved, but fire crews were able to quickly knock it down.
Then, about a half-an-hour later, fire crews responded to the Save-A-Lot on Central Avenue in Umatilla, for a report of a dumpster fire in the parking lot.
No injuries were sustained in either fire. Both fires have been forwarded to the Arson Task force and the State Fire Marshal is investigating.
Authorities are investigating six other fires in the Umatilla area, all believed to be cases of arson. Officials are trying to determine if the two fires set on Monday could be related to the others.
