ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) - A UCF student is facing two charges of animal cruelty after investigators say he beat his own dog to death.
The beating happened back in June at an apartment complex near UCF.
Deputies say Luke Stribling brought the dog into the East Orlando Animal Hospital, on Lake Underhill Road, back on June 12 with a broken leg.
In his arrest report, Stribling told the veterinarian that the 17-week-old Shiba Inu, named Julian, got his leg caught between two wooden slates two days prior.
According to the report, the vet asked Stribling why he let the dog suffer, but Stribling did not have an answer.
Fast forward to June 26, when Animal Services got a call from the Waterford Lakes Animal Clinic, located on Lake Underhill Road, about a dog that had been kicked to death.
In the report, the second veterinarian noticed the dog had a cast on his leg from a prior injury and that Stribling gave the vet the same story about the dog's leg being caught between two wooden slates.
That day, Stribling admitted to Animal Services that he hit the dog multiple times because he was frustrated.
X-rays of the dog were taken and showed a fractured rib, sternum and abdomen.
According to the arrest report, the veterinarian determined the dog died of blunt force trauma.
