Winter weather hits North Central Florida

Brain freeze was in full effect in Lake City on Wednesday.  On a digital traffic sign, road crews mistakenly warned drivers of “freezing brides” instead of freezing bridges.  The News Station found small icicles dangling from power lines and grass covered in frost.

Just to the south, Alachua County Schools canceled class Wednesday and Thursday after the National Weather Service issued a weather advisory.  While temperatures did dip below freezing, FOX 35 did not find any hazardous weather conditions Wednesday.  Several children did tell our crews they are disappointed they did not get to see snow like folks north of them in Tallahassee.
