U.S. Rep Maxwell Frost speaks out against Trump, Musk and DOGE

On Friday, U.S. Rep. Maxwell Alejandro Frost hosted a press conference on the mounting threats he believes Elon Musk’s DOGE and the Trump Administration pose to the 113,000 Central Floridians who count on Social Security benefits to survive. He said the threat comes at a time when the increasing cost of living continues to put at risk the livelihood of those on fixed incomes.

Florida surfer releases first book 'On a Rising Swell'

Dan Reiter a life-long Floridian and surfer, has released his first book called "On a Rising Swell." In the two dozen essays, Reiter chronicles the passionate Space Coast community of surfers who are determined to surf the less-than-perfect sandbars in the small wave capital of the world. Orange County neighborhood drive-by shooting

The Orange County Sheriff's Office is asking the public for help in identifying the vehicle seen in this video, which drove by a home earlier this week along North Hastings Street and opened fire.

Special send-off for Seminole High School water polo teams

Just before 9 a.m. on Thursday, the girls and boys water polo teams at Seminole High School participated in a special send-off before leaving for the state competition in Miami. This is the second year in a row that both teams have made it to states final four. The girls are ranked No. 1 in the state and No. 1 in the nation with a record of 27-1. The boys record is 20-8, and they’re ranked fourth in Florida.

New community garden opens in Pine Hills

Hundreds of Pine Hills residents are expected to gather this Thursday afternoon for the ribbon-cutting ceremony of the Pine Hills Community Garden. In addition to the opening ceremony, Orange County is partnering with the local nonprofit IDEAS For US to give away more than 100 trees to Pine Hills residents. The tree giveaway is part of a neighborhood-wide beautification effort.

Daytona Beach police provide updates after child hit by 2 cars

A 1-year-old child was killed on Wednesday night after being hit by two vehicles in Daytona Beach, according to police. Officials said the child ran into the street while chasing the family dog, which had escaped from their home. While following the dog, the child stepped into oncoming traffic and was hit.
