The Daytona Tortugas are back in action. Tuesday, the team was taking on the St. Lucie Mets at Jackie Robinson Ball Park in Daytona Beach.

Haley hits a homerun

Haley Amlong, a Boone High School student with Down syndrome, was cheered on by her teammates after hitting a homerun during a softball game between Boone and Apopka High School. The coaches and teams made sure Haley had her moment to shine.

UCF athlete Nahla Turner beats cancer

The coronavirus pandemic was hard on student athletes this past year, but one UCF women’s soccer player faced an even greater challenge. Nahla Turner was diagnosed with stage four cancer, non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, on Jan. 9, 2020. She spent over six months undergoing chemotherapy and radiation treatments.
