A veteran resource center in Cocoa could have to close its doors. The American Legion Post 22 is dealing with a termite infestation, and the nonprofit doesn’t have the money to fix it. A substitute teacher in Marion County is accused of slapping students and using racial slurs by several students and parents. That substitute has been banned from the district, but has not been charged by police, which some parents are angry about. An investigation has been launched after a research plant seemingly released chemicals into the air on Monday in Palm Bay, depicting an orange hue high in the sky. Photos and videos flooded social media, curious as to what it was. Palm Bay Fire said the vapor tested positive for vaporized sodium cyanide and bromine.
