Lake Mary chemical spill | Press conference

The Lake Mary Fire Department said there has been a chemical spill at the Lake Mary water treatment plant, but insisted that there is no immediate danger to people who live nearby and that the city's water is safe to drink. The leak was reported shortly after 6 a.m. on Friday at the water treatment plant on Rinehart Road, a spokesperson for the Lake Mary Fire Department said. An official said hydrogen peroxide was leaking out of one of the tanks at the treatment plant.
