Florida students shift to homeschooling, charters

Orange County Public Schools is projecting a loss of more than 3,000 students this school year as families increasingly turn to charter schools and homeschooling, district officials said. The trend follows a statewide shift, with more than 155,000 students enrolled in Florida?s home education programs during the 2023?2024 school year?a 46% increase over five years.
