State senator calls for suspension of Palm Bay councilman

A Florida state senator is calling for the suspension of a Palm Bay city council member after a series of social media posts that were criticized as racist toward Indian Americans. State Sen. Debbie Mayfield, R-Melbourne, sent a letter Tuesday to Gov. Ron DeSantis urging him to suspend Councilman Chandler Langevin. Mayfield described Langevin’s posts as “repulsive and hateful,” writing that “racism should be rejected in all aspects.”
