Seminole State College to host Saturn viewing event

A rare view of Saturn will be on display Saturday night as Seminole State College hosts a public “Saturn Star Party” at its Sanford/Lake Mary campus. The event begins at 6:30 p.m. in the faculty parking lot between the campus planetarium and the baseball field. Telescopes will be available for visitors to observe the planet during a phenomenon known as a “ring plane crossing,” which occurs roughly every 14 years.
