Bodycam: Alleged Walmart shoplifter Tased, then shot
The Orange County Sheriff's Office released bodycam video showing the shooting of a man suspected of shoplifting from a nearby Walmart. Jason Beal was shot and taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. He has since been charged with robbery with a deadly weapon and resisting an officer with violence. Deputies released surveillance video showing Beal allegedly walking out of the Walmart with a full cart of items he did not pay for. A deputy stopped him nearby. Deputies said he did not comply with deputy's commands to stop. He was Tased then shot. Deputies said he appeared to be reaching for something. Deputies said Beal was found in possession of two knives.
