Operation Highway Shield: Full speech

FDLE and other agencies held a news conference on Thursday, April 9, to discuss Operation Highway Shield, a 4-day enforcement operation targeting commercial vehicles and CDL drivers. Officials said 3,300 vehicles were stopped for inspections or an observed violation. Of those, 176 drivers were taken out of service, 54 were found to have language deficiencies, 35 were arrested on alleged criminal charges, and 42 were referred to ICE.
