Orange County leaders push back against ICE
Orange County leaders adopted 2 new rules when it comes to housing detainees on behalf of DHS and ICE at the Orange County Jail: one limits the amount of detainees that can be held at the jail, the other seeks to stop a release-and-rebook situation, where detainees are released and then rebooked into jail to avoid the 72-hour hold rule. The conversations were part of an Orange County Commissioner's meeting.
