Body camera deflects bullet, saving Volusia County deputy

A Volusia County deputy is expected to recover after being shot twice during a confrontation with a suspect in Deltona, authorities said. Deputy Jose Rivera was struck in the leg and chest while responding to a call at a home on Candler Drive, according to the Volusia County Sheriff's Office. Rivera’s body-worn camera caused the bullet to ricochet into his shoulder.
