In a rare show of industry consensus, top U.S. tech leaders including OpenAI’s Sam Altman and Elon Musk have backed Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei’s urgent call to slow advanced AI development following a rogue model breach. However, President Donald Trump, as well as several Chinese officials, have pushed back against any pause, warning that a slowdown could compromise the nation's competitive edge.
