Tracking ETA: Storm could head toward panhandle
FOX 35 Chief Meteorologist Glenn Richards said ETA has slowed down and weakened, heading possibly toward the panhandle. He says forecasters predict the storm could dissipate.
ORLANDO, Fla. - In its latest track, Tropical Storm ETA shifted even more west back into the Gulf of Mexico, projected to head north, possibly toward the panhandle.
The latest path leaves Central Florida out of the storm's path.
The National Hurricane Center said the storm slowed down Monday night, moving at just 9 mph, with maximum sustained winds of 50 mph.
Right now, ETA is moving southwestward over the southeastern Gulf of Mexico.
FOX 35 Chief Meteorologist Glenn Richards said there are no warnings or watches in place for Central Florida.
He said ETA could also dissolve into a weaker system or dissipate all together.
