Cancer survivor gets coronavirus vaccine

A cancer survivor under 65 finally received the coronavirus vaccine. Melissa Miller is a stage III breast cancer survivor who has been fighting for her life for two years. When the pandemic first hit, she was a year into chemotherapy. Last weekend, she got an email from AdventHealth, encouraging her to sign up for the vaccine.

Florida rolled out a statewide website for people to pre-register for COVID-19 vaccines. But not all counties are on board. Three counties in Central Florida have started using this system and number could that could grow. However, Osceola, Lake, and Marion counties all say they will be on that new website by next week.

Amazon distribution center vaccine site in Lake County

The Health Department in Lake County partnered with Amazon to distribute coronavirus vaccines on Wednesday. The parking lot of its distribution center in Groveland was converted into a first-come, first-serve vaccination site.
