Inmate work crew member accused of burglary

A Florida inmate that was assigned to a prison work crew contracted by the City of Palm Coast is facing additional charges after robbing a home while on work duty. Both the man and another state prison inmate that helped him have extensive criminal histories that include burglary and theft-related charges. Both inmates were relocated to disciplinary confinement and will no longer be permitted to participate in a state inmate work crew.

Suspect identified in Orlando officer-involved shooting

The recovered firearm was later determined to be a simulated weapon that appeared similar to a "Glock handgun.

Semi-truck driver tracked down after deadly hit-and-run crash

Troopers say they have now located and arrested the semi-truck driver who fled the scene of a Friday morning crash in Palm Bay that killed two surveyors. Officials said the hit-and-run crash took place around 9:50 a.m. on I-95 southbound at Mile Marker 172 in Brevard County. Authorities have not released the names of the driver and said the crash currently remains a very active criminal investigation.
