President Donald Trump and his top officials have pushed back on a leaked intelligence report that said United States strikes on Iran only set its nuclear program back by a few months. Trump said the strikes led to the "virtual obliteration" of Iran's nuclear capabilities and set its atomic program back "by decades." However, other sources are saying that Iran's stockpile of enriched uranium was not eliminated.

Attorney General James Uthmeier held a press conference on Tuesday in Live Oak. The Attorney General was accompanied by Suwannee County Sheriff Sam St. John at the Suwannee County Emergency Operations Center. At the conference, Uthmeier discussed charges against drug suppliers for trafficking large amounts of fentanyl in North Florida.

The Senate Judiciary Committee held a full committee hearing titled ?The Thin Blue Line Protecting America from the Cartels" on Tuesday morning. The hearing examined federal law enforcement efforts to combat drug trafficking, violent crime and cross-border threats posed by transnational criminal organizations, including Mexican cartels. Lawmakers discussed coordination between agencies, challenges at the southern border and strategies to dismantle cartel operations within the United States. Sen. Rep. Al Green (D-Texas) filed an article of impeachment against President Donald Trump on Tuesday, accusing the president of failing to notify or seek authorization from Congress before the U.S. launched strikes on three Iranian nuclear sites over the weekend. The resolution alleges ?abuse of presidential powers by disregarding the separation of powers?devolving American democracy into authoritarianism by unconstitutionally usurping Congress?s power to declare war.?

Sheriff Grady Judd says Polk County detectives seized 64 pounds of fentanyl in what the sheriff's office calls the largest fentanyl seizure in the county's history. Judd says the investigation began in July 2024 and involved Mexico's two largest cartels: Jalisco and Sinaloa. Six suspected Jalisco members and two Sinaloa members have been arrested. A total of 35 pounds of fentanyl were seized from Jalisco and another 29 pounds were seized from Sinaloa, according to Judd ? enough to kill 14.5 million people.
