Ronald Exantus has been arrested in Florida for failing to register as a convicted felon, the Marion County Sheriff's Office said. His arrest comes days after he was released on supervised parole from the Kentucky Department of Corrections, serving roughly half of a 20-year prison sentence. Exantus was accused of breaking into the Tipton's home in 2015 and stabbing 6-year-old Logan to death. He was found not guilty of murder by reason of insanity. He was convicted of assaulting Logan's sisters and dad. The Marion County Sheriff's Office released bodycam video of Exantus' arrest.

A substitute teacher in Marion County is accused of slapping students and using racial slurs by several students and parents. That substitute has been banned from the district, but has not been charged by police, which some parents are angry about. A missing 17-year-old in Marion County has been found safe and "in good health," less than 24 hours after an Amber Alert was issued regarding his disappearance. Initially, it was reported that the teenager had been shot and abducted by 4 men. That turned out not to be true. Deputies said the teen was spotted buying a bike from a Walmart in Ocala.

All southbound lanes of Interstate 75 in the Marion County area are currently closed as the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) investigates a crash where a dump truck collided with an overpass. All southbound traffic is being diverted off at Exit 374.
