The Pine Hills Neighborhood Improvement District unveiled new renderings to create a thriving, vibrant Pine Hills, they say. The district's executive director said they plan to create a space that mixes businesses, residents and educational opportunities. 

After 55 total sloths in connection to the Orlando attraction, Sloth World, died, sloth conservationists aim to make changes in the transport of the animals, saying, "Ultimately, these animals should never have been removed from the rain forest." Now, they plan to meet with the county commissioners, the state attorney's office and the attorney general's office. They're also trying to meet with officials from the FWC, FOX 35's Manny Martinez reported. 

Days after Florida's Attorney General James Uthmeier announced a criminal investigation into Sloth World, after over 50 sloths died, the Orange County Sheriff's office announced it is assisting with the investigation. This comes on the heels of Florida Representative Maxwell Frost and Anna Eskamani demanding accountability. 

Three of 13 sloths transported to the Central Florida Zoo from a warehouse for the Sloth World experience have died. A necropsy report for Bandit, the first of three sloths to die, showed he had an abnormal buildup of fluid in his body. 

Why were the the deaths of dozens of Sloth World sloths not publicly reported after the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission visited the Sloth World warehouse in March? The FWC told FOX 35, the "circumstances discovered did not rise to the level of criminal intent." Florida Rep. Anna Eskamani called the situation, "willful neglect."  Now, the Orange County Sheriff's office confirmed it is investigating the situation. 

The Orange County Sheriff's Office said it would declare a "special event zone" near Camping World Stadium ahead of this weekend's 4-day Rolling Loud Orlando hip-hop music festival. That festival runs May 8-10 at Camping World Stadium. The special event zone will active starting Thursday, May 7, at 6 p.m. through 8 a.m. on Monday, May 11.

Winter Park’s historic nine-hole course is closed after a maintenance error damaged five greens. Repairs are expected to cost about $70,000 and will be paid through the city’s general fund. A temporary reopening is set for May 18, with a full reopening expected in July.

Dumpling was one of 13 sloths taken into the care of the Central Florida Zoo after found in serious condition. His digestive system was worsening after 11 days after being cared for. "He started going down hill a couple of days ago and progressively got less responsive," the zoo's CEO, Richard Glover, told FOX 35. 

The death of Habanero, a sloth in the care of the Central Florida Zoo, adds to the death count of over 30 sloths in connection to the anticipated Orlando attraction "Sloth World." While the Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier's office said the situation is under investigation, the State Attorney's office of Monique Worrell denied this. 

Orlando Utilities Commission bills rose by hundreds to customers. FOX 35's Laryssa Leone investigated the increase, saying it's caused by the city's billing error. 

A van crashed into the side of a house in Orange County early Monday, according to officials. At least one person was inside the home at the time of the crash. 

James Yawn was said to be traveling at a high speed, weaving in and out of moderate traffic and driving aggressively without regard to the safety of others in the road, a Florida Highway Patrol report said. Yawn was described as having very red, watery glossy bloodshot eyes and white crust in the corners of his mouth, troopers said. He also showed indicators of being under the influence of cannabis, FHP said. 

Florida Rep. Anna Eskamani calls for the Attorney General's office to launch a criminal investigation into the Orlando attraction 'Sloth World' after it was reported that over 50 sloths died before the attraction opened. Eskamani called the situation a "failure of government." 

A driver is in custody after Winter Park Police responded to a reported armed carjacking that turned into a 30-mile chase. The chase ended near mile marker 112, where the individual was taken into custody, police said.

Orlando leaders are discussing increasing street parking prices. Rates could increase to $2 an hour for the first two hours, with rates increasing each hour. The proposed daily rate at a garage is $20.
